Police have arrested a 47-year-old teacher of a government-run primary school in Odisha’s Kendrapara district on Saturday for allegedly sexually assaulting a 39-year-old widow, said police officials.

Police have arrested a 47-year-old teacher of a government-run primary school in Odisha’s Kendrapara district on Saturday for allegedly sexually assaulting a 39-year-old widow, said police officials.
The accused Ranjit Mandal, a teacher at government-run primary school at Raigada village under Jamboo marine police station jurisdiction, committed the crime at the lodging house at Paradip port town, the complaint alleged.

Both the victim woman and the accused were medically examined at the district headquarter hospital in Kendrapara. Based on the medical report, the accused Mandal was arrested under relevant sections of BNS and was remanded to jail custody after a local Court rejected the bail application, added police officials.
