Senior, junior, and para-archers will now be able to pursue their education without compromising their sporting careers, thanks to the introduction of much-needed academic flexibility.

In a significant step towards promoting the education of archers, the Archery Association of India (AAI), in the presence of its President Arjun Munda and Delhi BJP President, who also serves as AAI’s General Secretary, announced a partnership with Amity University, based in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

Speaking on the occasion, Munda shared that over the years, AAI has observed a significant challenge faced by many athletes who struggle to complete their education due to rigorous training schedules and national or international competitions.

He noted that this often results in archers enrolling in educational institutions but being unable to attend classes or appear for examinations, ultimately hindering their academic progress.

To address this critical issue, AAI and Amity University Online have signed a landmark agreement to allow Indian archers to pursue higher education while continuing their sporting commitments.

According to Dr Aseem Chauhan of Amity, the partnership will provide dedicated senior, junior, and para-archers with the flexibility required to balance their academic and athletic pursuits.

As part of the initiative, sports scholarships will be offered under the name ‘CHAMPS’ for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

The university will provide tailored programs that accommodate the demanding schedules of athletes, ensuring they can attend classes and take examinations with greater ease.

Three distinct scholarship tiers will be available, covering the complete program fee to ensure financial constraints do not hinder archers in pursuing both sporting and educational goals – 100 pc scholarship for international-level players; 50 pc scholarship for state-level players, and 30 pc scholarship for district-level players.
