Pakistan: 9-year-old Australian girl shot dead by police in case of mistaken identity
According to police, the incident took place on June 10 in Chakwal district, about 300 km from Lahore, in Punjab province of Pakistan.

It is said that the player’s father allegedly shot at her following a heated argument, and he has been taken into custody by the police. The incident took place at around 10.30 AM, when the deceased was shot with three bullets from a licensed firearm.

Reports say that the altercation between the player and her father was in connection with the tennis academy, which was being run by the victim. The woman was rushed to a private hospital following the incident, but later succumbed to the gunshot injuries.

The police have seized the weapon involved in the offence, while further investigation is being conducted, including forensic examination. Family members of the deceased are also being questioned by the cops over the incident and the situation between the player and her father.
