What they found was grim, Humaira’s lifeless body lying in the apartment, which was reportedly locked from the inside. Officers on the scene stated that there were no visible signs of foul play.

“The iron gate, wooden door, and balcony were all locked from inside. It doesn’t appear anyone else was involved,” said senior police officer Syed Asad Raza.

Her remains were sent to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Humaira Asghar Ali lived alone and had reportedly not been in contact with her family or close friends for some time. Authorities are now working to reach her relatives for further information.

She had a presence in Pakistan’s entertainment industry, having acted in the 2015 film ‘Jalaibee’ and appeared on ARY Digital’s reality show ‘Tamasha Ghar’. Though not a household name, she was familiar to many fans of local television and cinema.

Several social media users expressed shock and sadness. Some also raised questions about mental health support and loneliness, especially among those in the public eye.
