Star Australian wicket-keeper batswoman Alyssa Healy is in doubt for her side’s semi-final clash to be played on November 22. The collision with teammate Megan Schutt during the Women’s World T20 match against India in Guyana has left her injured.

On Saturday, during the 19th over of Indian innings, Healy collided with Schutt while trying to take a catch to dismiss India’s Arundhati Reddy. Both Healy and Schutt missed the catch and in the process of taking the catch, the keeper’s head hit her teammate’s shoulder and she immediately fell to the ground.

After the collision, Healy suffered a mild concussion and received attention from the physio. Healy was also forced to leave the field and didn’t take part in the rest of the match.

Skipper Meg Lanning, speaking at the post-match presentation ceremony, revealed that Healy was suffering from a mild concussion. “She’s got a mild concussion,” before adding, “So obviously we’ll treat that carefully and monitor that over the next few days. But hopefully she’s all right for us come semi-finals time.”

“I haven’t spoken to the doctor or anything like that. Obviously we’re just worried for her welfare. She was down on the bench there towards the ends of the batting innings. She wanted to bat, but we were just playing that smart. Hopefully she’s good to go,” Meg Lanning added.
