After veteran Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh, upper order batsman Murali Vijay has also questioned the parameters for selection and asked for increased communication.

Murali Vijay, who was axed from the Indian team for the last two Tests against England, has claimed that nobody — neither the chief selector or any other person — talked to him after he got dropped. The 34-year-old cricketer, though, admitted that he talked with members of the team management in England.

“Nothing at all. Neither the chief selector nor any other person spoke to me in England after I was dropped from the third Test. None of them has spoken to me since. I did have a conversation with the members of the team management in England and that’s it,” Murali Vijay told The Mumbai Mirror.

Murali Vijay also said he agreed with Harbhajan Singh. “I tend to agree with what Harbhajan Singh has said (on Tuesday) about the parameters of selection. I think it is important that a player is told about the reasons for keeping him out so that he knows where exactly he stands in the team management and selectors’ scheme of things,” Vijay further said.

Earlier, talented batsman Karun Nair has also said the team management had no communication with him after he was also dropped from the Indian team for the West Indies series.

However, chief selector MSK Prasad later denied Nair’s claim and said, “I personally spoke to Karun soon after the selection of the Test Team against the West Indies and also told the ways to make a comeback. The selection committee is very very clear with regard to the communication process.”
