The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has in a notification released on 21 July announced vacancies for 54,953 posts of GD Constable. The advertisement has been announced in the latest edition of Employment News.

While the application process started today, candidates can visit the official website of the SSC to apply online and submit it before 20 August 2018.

The official website where the SSC GD Constable positions can be applied is ssc.nic.in.

All the posts advertised are for filling vacancies in National Investigation Agency (NIA), Secretariat Security Force (SSF), paramilitary organisation Assam Rifles (AR) and Central Armed Police Forces such as Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Shashtra Seema Bal (SSB), and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).

The minimum qualification for a candidate to apply for the position is Class 10 pass and the minimum age limit is 19 years. The maximum age limit for a candidate to apply is 23 years, except for those from reserved categories.

But while the announcement has been made, the link to SSC constable recruitment has not been activated yet.

How to apply

Step 1: Go to official website – ssc.nic.in

Step 2: Click on the tab ‘Apply’ on the upper panel of the page.

Step 3: Click on the ‘Constable –GD’ section.

Step 4: Fill the form accurately and submit all relevant details.

Besides a written examination, candidates will have to undergo a tough physical examination and a medical test to qualify as constables. The written exam will be a 100-mark objective-type question paper testing candidates on their proficiency on general intelligence and reasoning, general knowledge and awareness, mathematics, and language.
