6.0-magnitude quake hits Philippines
A 6.0 magnitude offshore earthquake rocked Leyte province in the central Philippines on Friday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.
Recorded 5.4 on Richter scale; no damage reported
An earthquake measuring 5.4 magnitude on the Richter scale hit the main Luzon island in Philippines on Monday, the volcanology and seismology institute said.
The quake struck at 3.43 am 39 km east of Gonzaga town in Cagayan at a depth of 23 km, Xinhua news agency reported. No damage was reported.
The tremors were also felt in Santiago and Laoag City. Aftershocks were expected, Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.
