The J-K Police has prevented six youths of South Kashmir from joining militants. A spokesman of the police said on Saturday that the six boys intending to join militancy were counselled with the help of family members and subsequently handed over to their parents.

In another case, Rafiq Ahmad Dar and Abid Majeed of Awantipura in South Kashmir have been arrested for involvement in terror activities and terror-funding.

Meanwhile, pursuing credible leads of the presence of LeT terrorists in Kupwara, police, along with 41 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and 98 Bn CRPF, on Friday launched a cordon and search operation in Juggiyal, Turshan Mohalla, Hyhama areas of the district. While the searches were intensified, security forces zeroed in on a house where one terrorist was hiding. The joint forces strategically trapped the terrorist and arrested him from the spot.

The terrorist has been identified as Zabiullah, a resident of Multan in Pakistan. He had infiltrated into India and was part of the group that was eliminated at Halmatpora recently.
