Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has come a long way in the industry with his own share of ups and downs. The actor reveals about his biggest loss and how he overcame it.

The makers of Rani Mukherji’s upcoming film Hichki (Hiccups) have kickstarted the promotions of their film by adopting a never-seen-before promotional strategy. Rani will be seen interviewing some of the A-Listers of B-Town and ask about their biggest hurdle in life (Hichki/Hiccups in terms of the promotional strategy).

Shah Rukh is the first one to come forward and shared his Hichki and how he overcame it.

The actor says his biggest loss in life is the demise of his parents and to overcome it, he focused on his work, which gave him an escape route from the emptiness.

“My greatest ‘Hichki moment’ is the death of my parents. I was 15 when my father passed away and 26 when my mother passed away. It was very sad for us. The empty house without my parents used to come to bite us (my sister and me). The loneliness, pain and sadness of the loss of both my parents, could have been overwhelming enough to take over my life wholly. I decided to overcome this ‘Hichki’ moment by letting acting fill up my entire life,” Shah Rukh says.

SRK, who has been hailed as one of the best actors of Indian cinema, also believes god gives multiple ways to deal with hiccups in this lifetime.

“I always say this that one morning, when I wake up, I will realise that I have spent all these emotions and now have nothing more to give (as an actor). Otherwise, death is a hiccup from which there is no coming back. I realised that and therefore, overcame it by giving my work, my all. God will also give you multiple ways to deal with it (hiccups) in this lifetime,” the actor explains.

On the work front, Shah Rukh will be next seen as a dwarf in the upcoming film Zero, which also features Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma alongside him. Zero is all set to release on December 22.
