Pragjyotishpur: Assam before Assam
Assam is widely known across India as the abode of Goddess Kamakhya, the embodiment of feminine force, desire, and procreation.
An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale hit Assam early on Saturday, an official said. No damage or causality is reported.
The Regional Meteorological Centre here said the quake occurred 10 km beneath the ground at 6.45 a.m.
