INTERVIEW: Sidharth Malhotra believes a true gentleman is someone who respects women!

He has completed five years in the industry, and looks confident as ever with his seventh movie, A Gentleman: Sundar, Susheel, Risky. In an exclusive interview to thestatesman.com, Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra throws some light on his character, the onscreen chemistry between him and Jacqueline Fernandez, and what is the definition of a true gentleman!

“Rishi was tougher without a doubt, because of all that action and two months of training for perfecting the action sequence. Gaurav is a guy every homely man can relate to with a perfect life, wife, kids and a home, which was difficult for me as I don’t have such aspirations like that,” Sidharth says.

Speaking about his co-star Jacqueline Fernandez, the actor was quite vocal about their onscreen chemistry in the film. He reveals how much he enjoys working with the actress!

“We both worked in Brothers (2015), but never shared any screen space in the film. But this time she essays the role of my love interest in the film. I enjoyed working with her. Jacqueline is extremely hard working and self-made, and there is a certain level of comfort between us that made the chemistry looks great in the film,” the actor says.

The film is extensively shot in Miami, Florida, one of the best destinations for beaches!

“Yes, it is one of the best places for exotic beaches. We really had a fun time there. We shot Baat Bann Jaye at a very beautiful beach and when we were done for the day, we used to go to the beach in the evening, have some fun, music, and it was great fun. We even shot some action scenes as well.” Sidharth says.

This is Sidharth’s seventh movie in Bollywood and he features as the titular character in the movie–A Gentleman.

The perfect definition of a gentleman, according to the actor is someone who believes in equality and respects women.

“A true gentleman is someone who believes in equality and respects women… One should have a sense of individuality. Of course, he should have a good dressing sense and style.”

A Gentleman, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez is all set to release worldwide on August 25.
