Man drowns:A 60-year-old man drowned in Chitrotpala River near Kanchilo village under Patkura police jurisdiction in Kendrapara district yesterday while another person who fell into the turbulent river water is reported missing.   The deceased, according to police, has been identified as Syed Nassimuddin (60) while the missing man has been named as Seikh Nayeem (26).  Search operation is on to trace the missing person, police added.
Poacher held:Wildlife personnel made a seizure of 2 kg wild boar meat and arrested a person  in a village close to Bhitarkanika wildlife sanctuary in Kendrapara district. The seizure was made at Adhasala hamlet under Satabhaya gram panchayat. The accused ~ Bighneswar Parida ~ has confessed to the crime. He with two other accomplices had killed the boar. They indulged in poaching of deer and boars and traded in animals’ meat, said forest officials.
CPWD Day: The 159th CPWD Day was celebrated in the CPWD office and Nirman Bhawan at Bhubaneswar by the office of the chief engineer (eastern zone-V), CPWD and the chief project manager on Friday.  The  CPWDwas founded in  Ajmer 159 years ago. The CPWD has been  lauded for its contribution in nation building through its quality infrastructure and maintenance services, said  a senior official.
