Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger firmly believes that the period starting with London derby on Saturday until Christmas later this year will be an important period for ‘The Gunners’.

“It is vital for us to start well again, there is no international break now – we play every three days and we know from now until Christmas is a very important period for us,” Wenger told the club’s official website ahead of their Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

Arsenal have won 10 games in a row in the Premier League at Emirates Stadium, the same venue that will host the north London derby.

“Just before the break we had a disappointing result but quite a positive performance [at Man City] and it’s important for us, going into such a big game on Saturday, to take the positives out of that game and transfer that enthusiasm and resilience into the derby,” the optimistic manager added.

The boys are coming fresh from national duties, a fact that can intensify the action on Saturday.

Arsenal footballers Alex Iwobi, Alex Lacazettea and Mesut Ozil shone for their respective national teams helping them qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Iwobi and Lacazettea both scored twice for their respective nations, while Ozil claimed an assist for Germany.
