New Delhi, 5 Oct: A rampaging 90-run opening partnership between D Smith (59) and Sachin Tendulkar (35) and some disciplined bowling enabled Mumbai Indians to crush Trinidad and Tobago by six wickets here tonight to set up a title clash with the Rajasthan royals in the Champions League T20 tomorrow.
T&T, asked to bat first, scored 153 for 5 and Mumbai Indians replied with 157 for four in  19.1 overs.
Though Sachin played a small innings, he crossed another milestone in this match by  crossing 50,000 runs in all forms of the game.
Dwayne  Smith and Sachin Tendulkar gave Mumbai Indians an electrifying start as they sent the bowlers on a leather hunt.
Smith was very aggressive but Sachin soon caught up with him as the two piled up 49 in first six overs in which the West Indian&’s contribution was  26 (1×6,3×4) while Tendulkar had 23 runs to his credit which included two sixes and a four.
The West Indian smashed Samuel Badree for a six in the third over but the packed stadium came alive as Sachin blasted  off-spinner Ottley  for two successive sixes off his first over.
Sachin  sent Ottley over long on to take the score from 33 to 39 and  the next ball carted him over extra cover to make it 45. The spinner conceded 16 runs in his over.
The way two were batting as if they would overtake the target without being dismissed but that was not to be as Sachin got  a thick outside edge chasing a short and wide delivery off  Simmons and was easily caught by wicket keeper  Ramdin.
