Kolkata, 7 February
Mohun Bagan and United Sports Club will take to the field against Sheikh Jamal and Geylang International respectively on Saturday, knowing that a point will be good enough to see both of them through to the last four of the 118th edition of the IFA Shield.
While the ask is not much, both the Kolkata clubs will be without their talismanic forwards, Odafa for the Mariners and Ranty Martins for United SC.  While Odafa has to sit out after aggravating his hamstring injury in his previous match against Mohammedan SC, Ranty Martins is suspended after being sent off in controvertial fashion in his side&’s 2-0 defeat against East Bengal. As for the outstation teams, S-League side Geylang International has looked jaded and out of sorts in the two matches they have played so far and will have to win to progress.
Sheikh Jamal Dhanmundi of Bangladesh, however, has played attractive football and will look to carry on their momentum after thrashing United Sikkim 3-1 in their previous match.
