Intensifying his attack on the Centre, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday took a jibe at Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, yet again, accusing him of failing to revive the economy which was “in the ICU” due to demonetisation and Goods and Services Tax (GST).

“Dr. Jaitley, due to noteban and GST, the economy is in ICU. You said you were no less than anyone, but is seems your medicine has no effect,” tweeted Rahul Gandhi.

The tweet was an instant hit as it was retweeted by over 1500 people and liked by more than 3000 in just half an hour.

The attack on Jaitley comes a day after the Gandhi scion mocked the Narendra Modi government over its growth forecast, terming as a “farce”.

Attaching a tweet posted by the Press Information Bureau, the government’s official publicity wing, which said that real GDP growth average was 7.5 per cent in the last three years, Rahul Gandhi posted: “Dear Mr. Jaitley, May the Farce be with you.”

His remark was also a pun on the famous line from the “Star Wars” blockbuster movie series.
