Strikes on Pakistan

There is always a slip between the cup and the lip when it comes to Pakistan’s reality. What is publicly postured is seldom so. Creation of Bangladesh in 1971 was amongst the most powerful symbols of an unsustainable rationale for the only nation to be created in the name of religion.

Tough times ahead for Shehbaz Sharif

I t was on 4 March that Shehbaz Sharif was sworn in as the Prime Minister of Pakistan. He heads a coalition of PML (Nawaz), PPP of Asif Ali Zardari and MQM (Muttahida Qaumi Movement) It is clear that he came to power after a massively rigged election which deprived Imran Khan’s PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf) of at least 80 seats in the National Assembly which has 266 elected seats.

Shehbaz Returns

Shehbaz Sharif has been elected as Pakistan’s Prime Minister for the second time, marking a return to a position he held until August when Parliament was dissolved ahead of the elections.
