Indian equity markets started the Tuesday trading session with marginal gains amid mixed global cues.

At 9:35 am, the Sensex at the Bombay Stocks Exchange (BSE) was trading 39 points up at 26208 while the Nifty at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was trading 10 points higher at 7964.

In the broader markets, BSE MidCap and SmallCap indices were trading 0.3 per cent and 0.4 per cent higher respectively.

Gail India posted the biggest jump, in the Sensex-30 pack, with a climb of 1.7 per cent, while, Infosys became the lead loser with a marginal decline of 0.5 per cent.
