Erasing Thursday’s declines amid value buying domestic equity markets started last trading session of the week with marginal gains.

Atnbsp;9.45 am on Friday thenbsp;Sensexnbsp;at the Bombay Stocks Exchange BSE was trading 44 points higher at 27871 while the Nifty at the National Stock Exchange NSE was trading 17 points up at 8608.

In the broader markets BSE Midcap index jumped 0.9 per cent while Smallcap index surged by 1.2 per cent.

On Thursday thenbsp;Sensexnbsp;had closed 465 points down at 27828 and the Nifty had closed 154 points lower at 8591 followingnbsp;the news of surgical strike across LoC.

Among the BSE sectoral indices Realty index surged the most up by 2 per cent while Consumer Durables index became the lead loser down by 0.2 per cent.

Top gainers in thenbsp;Sensex-30 pack: Gail up 2 per cent SBI up 1.4 per cent Infosys up 1.1 per cent Reliance Industries up 1.1 per cent and Sun Pharma up 1 per cent.

Top losers in thenbsp;Sensex-30 pack: Adani Ports down 2.1 per cent Cipla down 1.6 per cent Bharti Airtel down 1.2 per cent Coal India down 0.8 per cent and Dr Reddy’s Labs down 0.7 per cent.

Meanwhile the Rupee was trading 21 paise higher at 66.64 against the US Dollar.
