Former England opener Raman Subba Row dies aged 92
Former England opener and ICC match referee Raman Subba Row has died at the age of 92.
Former England captain Wayne Rooney on Monday appeared in court and admitted to drunk-driving.
“Following today’s court hearing I want to publicly apologise for my unforgiveable lack of judgment in driving while over the legal limit. It was completely wrong,” Rooney said in a statement.
“I have already said sorry to my family, my manager and chairman and everyone at Everton FC. Now I want to apologise to all the fans and everyone else who has followed and supported me throughout my career,” Rooney added.

Following charges of drunk-driving, the police arrested the 31-year-old forward in Wilmslow, Cheshire, on September 1.
The Stockport Magistrates’ Court banned Rooney from driving for two years and ordered him to perform 100 hours of unpaid work as a part of a 12-month community order.
Rooney, who plays for Premier League (EPL) club Everton, was also ordered to pay a fine of £170.
The only English footballer to win the EPL, FA Cup, UEFA Champions League, League Cup, UEFA Europa League and FIFA Club World Cup, Rooney wants to amend his wrongdoing with community service.
“Of course I accept the sentence of the court and hope that I can make some amends through my community service,” he said.
