India beat Japan 2-1 to storm into Nations Cup semis
India booked their place in the semi-finals of the FIH Hockey Women’s Nations Cup 2026 with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Japan in their second Pool A match in Auckland on Tuesday.
India defeated Germany 2-1 to clinch the bronze medal at the Hockey World League Final.

SV Sunil and Harmanpreet Singh scored in the 21st and 54th minute as India defeated Germany 2-1 to clinch the bronze medal at the Hockey World League Final in Odisha on Sunday.
Both India and Germany started the game aggressively, threatening to score in early minutes. However, no goal was recorded in the first quarter.

Striker Sunil made the most of a rebounded ball and struck in the 21st minute to give India the lead before the half-time.

Mark Appel scored an equaliser in the 36th minute to pull Germany back into the game.
To complete the victory course, Harmanpreet found the back of the net via a penalty corner in the 54th minute.
