In a Facebook video, Acharya Balkrishna shared detailed views about Patanjali’s work in health, yoga, and Ayurveda. He spoke about Patanjali’s aim to connect traditional Indian knowledge with modern health needs while focusing on affordable and accessible care.
He explained that Patanjali is not only a commercial organisation but also a mission-driven institution working for public health. According to him, the organisation has developed high-quality, evidence-based medicines inspired by Ayurveda and supported by research. He said the focus has always been on improving people’s health using natural and traditional systems of healing along with scientific methods.
He also highlighted that Patanjali has expanded health services widely across India. And, he claimed that, with support from central systems, the organisation has helped establish more than 5,000 treatment facilities across the country. These centres are meant to support people who may not easily reach hospitals or modern medical services. He said that nearby Vaidik (Ayurvedic) services can help people recover through traditional consultation.
Free ayurvedic care, yoga expansion, and telemedicine support
In the video, Acharya Balkrishna stressed that Ayurvedic consultation through Patanjali is available free of cost. He said people who cannot visit clinics physically can still access guidance. He also mentioned that yoga classes are being conducted on a massive scale, with around 80,000 to 100,000 yoga sessions running across India.
According to him, lakhs of people practice these classes daily and see improvements in their health.
He added that people who cannot attend classes in person can also follow yoga programs on television, especially through programs led by Swami Ramdev, which help viewers learn yoga at home and improve their well-being.
He further said that Patanjali also responds to health-related questions on social media. For urgent needs, he mentioned that more than 200 telemedicine facilities are available, offering free online consultation. People can also connect through video calls for medical advice without paying consultation fees.
A toll-free number, 1800-296-1111, has been provided for free health guidance. He said that medicines can be purchased from nearby stores, or in some cases, delivered to homes if needed. However, he clarified that only medicines may have a cost, while the consultation and overall guidance remain free.
A mission of service and accessible healthcare
Acharya Balkrishna described Patanjali’s mission as one rooted in service rather than business. He said the organisation views the nation as a family and works with the belief that health services should reach every household. In his words, India is not a marketplace but a large family, and healthcare should be treated with that spirit.
He added that whether through yoga classes, Ayurvedic treatment, telemedicine, or online consultation, the goal is to help people become healthier and self-reliant. According to him, lakhs of people are already benefiting daily from these initiatives across India.
