Global pop icon Taylor Swift has been inducted into the prestigious Songwriters Hall of Fame, becoming one of its youngest honourees at the age of 36.

Taylor Swift earns Songwriters Hall of Fame honour

The announcement was made on Wednesday, cementing Swift’s status not just as a performer, but as one of the most influential songwriters of her generation.

She now stands as the second youngest living inductee, with music legend Stevie Wonder holding the record after being inducted at 32 in 1983, Billboard reported.

Class of 2026: An elite lineup

The Class of 2026 also features several celebrated names, including Walter Afanasieff, Terry Britten and Graham Lyle, Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons of Kiss, Kenny Loggins, Alanis Morissette, and Christopher “Tricky” Stewart.

To qualify for induction, a songwriter’s first commercially released composition must be at least 20 years old. Swift became eligible with the release of her debut single “Tim McGraw” in June 2006.
