What children learn during their early years often stays with them forever. This is why parents try hard to build good habits and a healthy lifestyle for their kids. Eating nutritious food is important, but exercise is equally necessary.
Yoga, according to Swami Ramdev, is one of the best practices to make children physically strong, mentally sharp, and more focused in life.
Parents often notice that kids spend more hours on mobile phones and less time with their books. Ramdev believes yoga is an effective solution to this problem. He says that yoga not only sharpens the brain but also improves concentration. This helps children prepare better for exams.
Health benefits of yoga for children
Apart from boosting memory, yoga also supports overall health. Ramdev explains that it improves blood circulation, keeps energy levels high, and prevents common problems such as headaches and weak eyesight.
With regular practice, children become calmer, more patient, and more disciplined. This helps them stay active both in studies and in daily life.

One of the most important yoga practices Ramdev recommends for children is Surya Namaskar, also known as the Sun Salutation. It is a complete workout for the entire body. Practicing it daily improves flexibility, helps manage weight, and builds inner patience.
Just five to ten minutes of this exercise every day can bring a noticeable difference in both physical and mental growth.

Another breathing technique he highlights is Bhastrika Pranayama. This exercise is done in three ways, from slow inhaling and exhaling to faster breathing cycles. Practicing it for five minutes every day helps increase energy, refresh the mind, and sharpen thinking ability.
Ramdev considers Anulom Vilom, or alternate nostril breathing, the best technique for boosting memory and concentration. In this practice, children sit in a meditative posture, close one nostril with their fingers, breathe in deeply from the other, and then switch sides to exhale.
Doing this for at least five minutes, and ideally up to half an hour, brings calmness, focus, and mental clarity.
Along with yoga, Ramdev also suggests simple home remedies to support brain health. Drinking water soaked with Triphala overnight is said to purify the system and improve memory. Eating amla, or Indian gooseberry, in any form provides essential nutrients for the brain.
A regular diet of fresh green vegetables further supports concentration and overall well-being.
According to him, if children practice yoga every day and follow healthy eating habits, they will not only perform better in school but also lead a healthier and happier life.
