Leader of Opposition and Jharkhand BJP chief Babulal Marandi has alleged that a senior police officer in Jharkhand conspired to frame Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma during the state assembly elections. In a statement on Saturday, Marandi claimed the officer sent someone to Delhi and Guwahati twice, allegedly after paying them money, to implicate the Assam CM.

Marandi said he would soon present proof of the conspiracy. Addressing Chief Minister Hemant Soren, he questioned whether such actions were carried out with Soren’s knowledge or without his awareness.

“If an officer, driven by greed for money and position, can dare to indulge in such a vile act against a highly respected figure, what stops him from doing the same to you when the time comes?” Marandi said.

The former chief minister also alleged that in the past, the same individuals had prepared detailed dossiers on Soren’s activities and sent over a hundred signed and unsigned complaints against him to various places.

Marandi advised Soren to have the matter investigated by his own agencies, and if information was still lacking, to meet him personally to review the evidence. “It might open your eyes and help you identify the snakes in your sleeve,” he said.
