On the auspicious occasion of Navami during Sharadiya Navratri, Patanjali’s General Secretary Acharya Balkrishna Wednesday performed the traditional Kanya Pujan at Divya Yog Mandir Ashram, Haridwar. Before the ritual, he conducted a Havan and Puja.
After the ceremony, young girls were offered food, clothes, and gifts as ‘prasad’.
Speaking on the occasion, Acharya Balkrishna said, “Kanya Pujan is the soul of Indian culture and Sanatan tradition. In this ritual, young girls are worshipped as the embodiment of the nine forms of Goddess Durga, and blessings are sought from them. This tradition inspires society to respect and revere feminine power. Kanya Pujan gives me a profound and divine energy. On this day, I pray to Maa Durga for the welfare of the nation and society.”
He further stated, “When we worship nine young girls, in reality, we are worshipping power, knowledge, compassion, prosperity, health, courage, victory, and righteousness. This tradition teaches us that respect for women must be held as supreme in society. In today’s age, where materialism is rapidly growing, it is equally important for us to stay connected with our roots, our traditions, and our values. Kanya Pujan reminds us that without women, society is incomplete.”
The Patanjali Yogpeeth campus in Haridwar echoed with devotional fervor through out the program. Saints, seers, and members of the Patanjali family were also present.
