Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL)’s ‘Swadeshi’ 4G network on Saturday. With the launch of BSNL’s 4G service nationwide, communication networks will be readily available in 240 villages in Uttar Pradesh, where mobile phone connectivity was previously a distant dream.
These villages currently do not have connectivity from any telecom company.
At a press conference held here on Friday, a day before the launch of BSNL’s 4G services, AK Garg, Chief General Manager of BSNL (Eastern Circle), stated that BSNL’s 4G service will be launched for the first time tomorrow. Around 97,500 sites have been installed across the country. Additionally, 18,900 sites are being covered under the BPN network.
Garg said that until now, BSNL did not have 4G technology. This technology was developed within 22 months. After the development of this technology, India has joined the five countries in the world that have the capability to develop this technology.
He shared that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also be present on the occasion of the launch of this service tomorrow.
He said that BSNL was also working on 5G service, which will start in the coming days. Garg stated that for 4G services, the BSNL has connected 18,900 sites in the state using solar electricity, which fall in rural areas. The development will ensure that consumers do not face any problem in getting the network even during power cuts. He said that this service is built with completely indigenous technology.
