Zayn Malik on Shah Rukh Khan: While many global stars try to “discover” India for a trend, Zayn Malik has quietly been living that connection for years. And now, while promoting his South India-inspired album Konnakol, he’s getting extra candid about how deeply India, and especially Bollywood and Shah Rukh Khan.
From obsessing over Hindi films to praising Indian soundtracks as “some of the best in the world,” Zayn is not just dropping polite compliments. He’s full-on fanboying.
During a chat with Elle India, Zayn revealed that Indian films are part of his everyday life. Not occasionally. Not “once in a while.” He said he’s ‘always’ watching them. And when asked for his favourite, he didn’t hesitate. It’s ‘Main Hoon Na’ starring the one and only Shah Rukh Khan.
Yes, Zayn Malik watching ‘Main Hoon Na’ is officially the crossover we didn’t know we needed.

The 2004 Bollywood entertainer clearly left a strong impression on him. Zayn even said he’d happily be part of a film like that if he ever got the chance. Imagine that. Zayn dancing in a Bollywood campus song or doing slow-motion romance scenes. Internet chaos guaranteed.
But this isn’t a random crush. The respect between Zayn and Shah Rukh Khan actually goes back years. They met at the Asian Awards in 2015 in London.
Zayn received the Outstanding Contribution to Music award, while SRK took home Outstanding Contribution to Cinema. Shah Rukh personally congratulated him, and the moment quickly went viral online.
Interestingly, around the same time, Zayn also appeared alongside Jisoo in the track “Eyes Closed.”
