Game of Thrones Season 7 left us speculating about Tyrion Lannister’s feelings towards his Queen, Daenerys Targaryen.
Ever since we saw Tyrion lingering outside Danerys’ cabin while she got intimate with Jon Snow, a seed of doubt was sowed in our minds.
Questions such as ‘Is he in love with his Queen?’ and ‘Is he just worried about the impact of them falling in love?’ popped up after the cryptic scene.
Finally, Peter Dinklage himself opened up about the scene that has left fans speculating about the plot. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Dinklage explained why Tyrion has such a troubled expression on his face in the scene.
“A lot of the time with Tyrion, it’s professional and personal. Obviously, he has feelings for Daenerys. He loves her — or thinks he does. She’s awe-inspiring. He’s questioning that because he doesn’t have a good track record for falling in love. There’s jealousy wrapped up in there. And he loves Jon Snow, too. They’re the two people he has the most in common with, in a way — they’re both outsiders in their own families who have refused to follow the path their family has taken, and hopefully for the better. He’s wondering how smart of a move [Jon and Dany getting romantically involved is], because passion and politics don’t mix well. He knows the two of them getting together could be very dangerous,” the actor says.
The closeness between Jon Snow, played by Kit Harrington, and Daenerys, Emilia Clarke has surely made an impact on Tyrion, and we cannot wait to witness his reaction when his gets to know that they are related.
Game of Thrones Season 8, which will be the final season of the blockbuster HBO series, will be aired in India on Star World in 2019.
