That’s exactly what happened when veteran actor Nagarjuna was asked about becoming a grandfather. Ever since his son Naga Chaitanya married actor Sobhita Dhulipala, the internet has been busy with baby rumours. Now, Nagarjuna’s reaction has only added fuel to the chatter.
Nagarjuna reacts to grandfather question
During a recent interaction with Suman TV, Nagarjuna was directly asked if he was about to get a “promotion” from father to grandfather.
The actor didn’t answer immediately. He paused, laughed a little, and even tried to walk away, clearly caught off guard.
When the question was repeated and the rumours were mentioned again, Nagarjuna finally responded with a calm smile.
“I’ll let you know when the time is right,” he said.
That one line was enough for fans to read between the lines. He neither confirmed nor denied the news, but social media quickly filled with congratulatory messages for the family.
Why pregnancy rumours won’t go away
Rumours about Sobhita Dhulipala being pregnant have been floating around for a while. Since the couple got married in December 2024, fans have closely followed their public appearances. Any loose outfit, any absence from events, and speculation starts again.
The couple, however, has stayed quiet and private choosing not to address these reports. Nagarjuna’s recent comment has once again brought the rumours back into the spotlight.
Love story that stayed mostly private
Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala kept their relationship away from the public eye for a long time. Dating rumours first began in 2022 after Sobhita was spotted at Chaitanya’s Hyderabad home.
Later, pictures and sightings from their London vacation made the buzz even stronger.
Still, the two actors didn’t say a word. It was only in August 2024 that they made things official with their engagement. A few months later, on December 4, 2024, they got married in a beautiful ceremony at Annapurna Studios.
Before marrying Sobhita, Naga Chaitanya was married to actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The two met on the sets of their 2010 hit film ‘Ye Maaya Chesave’.
They married in 2017, but after years of rumours, the couple announced their separation in 2021, just before their wedding anniversary. Samantha has since moved on and recently married filmmaker Raj Nidimoru in a low-key ceremony on December 1 in Coimbatore.
