There were rumours of Sandeep Reddy Vanga-directed ‘Spirit’ being as intense as action promised on-screen as veteran actor Prakash Raj who was touted as key part of the film reportedly stepping away from the project. But the actor has now spoken up.
“Some nonsense speculations these are,” Prakash told HT, “I am not aware of it.”
What were the rumours?
According to reports, tensions flared during the shooting of a crucial scene. Prakash Raj and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga reportedly disagreed on how the scene should be interpreted and executed.
The discussions allegedly grew heated. And friction on set reached a point where the actor decided to part ways.
Industry insiders suggest that differences in working style and approach may have also played a role. But now, the actor has cleared the water.
Spirit’s casting rollercoaster
This isn’t the first casting shake-up for Spirit. Earlier, the makers had courted Deepika Padukone for the female lead. However, she reportedly exited due to disagreements over her fee and shooting schedule.
Following her departure, Triptii Dimri was brought in to star opposite Prabhas.

What is ‘Spirit’ about?
Produced by T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures, ‘Spirit’ is being touted as pan-world spectacle with high-octane action, intense drama, bold storytelling. The movie has been one of the most talked-about projects of the year. This grew especially after first-look poster released during the new year went viral for its gripping visuals.
Alongside Prabhas, supporting cast includes Vivek Oberoi and Kanchana, who are expected to bring depth and energy to the story. The film is slated for a theatrical release on March 5, 2027.
Prakash Raj on the work front
Prakash Raj’s calendar is far from empty. He is set to appear in ‘Dacoit’ alongside Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur, and will also feature in ‘Jana Nayagan’, the last film of Thalapathy Vijay.
On top of that, there are reports of him joining SS Rajamouli’s ‘Varanasi’, starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
