India’s Got Latent Season 2 dropped its first episode on June 20. Within hours, a desi anthem titled “Chai Ki Tapri”, also known as “Oye Hoye Kya Scene Hai”, had taken over social media feeds across the country. The song came from a contestant’s performance in the premiere episode and quickly became the defining moment of the show’s return.

The show’s big comeback

India’s Got Latent Season 2 is created, produced, and hosted by stand-up comedian Samay Raina. Following viral success of its first season in 2024, second season expanded its production scale and distribution network and premiered in June 2026 via unique dual-platform simulcast on both Netflix and YouTube.

The premiere episode dropped simultaneously on Netflix and YouTube on June 20, 2026. According to Mint, the premiere episode crossed fifteen million views within hours of its release. New episodes are set to release every two weeks on both platforms.

Star power in the opening episode

Samay Raina returned with India’s Got Latent Season 2 on June 20, with Alia Bhatt and Sharvari as special guests to promote their upcoming film Alpha. Alongside Raina, the panel for the opening episode included Alia Bhatt, Sharvari Wagh, Balraj Singh Ghai, and Aashish Solanki.

Raina wasted no time roasting his guests. He took a dig at Alia’s Cannes appearance, her film Jigra, and also referred to one of her most viral moments on Koffee With Karan. Introducing Alia, Raina jokingly said, “She is the biggest guest we had till now in Latent.”

Alia hinted that Kapil Sharma is a superior comedian. Sharvari reminded him how India’s Got Latent Season 1 landed into controversy.

The song that went viral

The “Chai Ki Tapri” song, titled “Oye Hoye Kya Scene Hai; Teri Chai Ki Tapri Par,” emerged from Episode 1 as a contestant’s original performance. It picked up steam rapidly on YouTube and Instagram Reels within two days of the episode airing.

Multiple fan-made music videos and unofficial re-uploads under titles like “Ballu Harami” began circulating, each racking up significant views.

The song has since been making rounds alongside clips of Alia Bhatt, Sharvari, and Samay Raina reacting to the performance.

Contestants who stole the show

Alongside the chai anthem, two other contestants left a strong impression on viewers.

Independent musician Suhasini, also known as Suhasini Music, opened the show with an original song on her ukulele. Her performance left the audience and guest panelists, including Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, visibly moved, setting a warm, melodic tone before the rest of the episode’s chaos took over.

Comedian Avinash Aggarwal arrived dressed as Donald Trump and delivered genuinely viral moments during the episode. When Alia Bhatt struggled to find her words, he hit her with a perfectly timed request for someone to give her a script.

Maharashtra-based theatre artist Sukrut Deo became one of the biggest talking points after delivering a performance that left the audience emotional and earned him praise from Alia Bhatt and Samay Raina. Within a day, his follower count shot up from just a few thousand to well over 100,000. Alia later praised Sukrut on social media, calling him a “legend,” while Samay Raina summed up his feelings with a one-word comment: “Star.”
