Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has officially confirmed that Drishyam 3 will release worldwide on April 2. The actor shared the update on Instagram along with a new poster, instantly setting off a wave of excitement among fans.
The film marks the third chapter in the famous and much loved franchise that first began in 2013.
A poster that brings back the tension
The newly released poster shows Mohanlal standing inside a banana plantation, looking sharply into the distance. The setting feels familiar, quiet on the surface, yet filled with tension.
The visual tone is similar to the earlier films, keeping the same serious and suspenseful mood. Within minutes of the post going live, fans flooded the comments section with reactions and countdown messages.
Georgekutty returns
Mohanlal will once again step into the role of Georgekutty, the character who has been at the centre of the story from the beginning.
The tagline for the film reads, “Past Never Stays Silent,” suggesting that earlier events will continue to shape what happens next. The line hints that unfinished matters may resurface.
The Malayalam version is set to release six months before the Hindi adaptation, which stars Ajay Devgn and is scheduled for October 2026.
What to expect from this chapter
Director Jeethu Joseph has indicated that the film may not follow typical thriller patterns. He has asked audiences to keep their expectations balanced, suggesting that this instalment could take a slightly different approach.
Even so, interest remains high. Reports suggest that Drishyam 3 is preparing for one of the biggest releases in Malayalam cinema, with a wide global rollout planned.
Release date
As the date, April 2 approaches, fans are eager to see how Georgekutty’s story unfolds once again.
