The trailer for ‘Maharani’, a Gujarati-language film starring Manasi Parekh, Shraddha Dangar, Ojas Rawal, and Sanjay Goradia, has officially released.

Packed with humour, everyday dilemmas, and strong emotional undercurrents, ‘Maharani’ offers a fresh take on the not-so-simple dynamics between house owners and their domestic help.

At its heart, the film revolves around a household in search of the “perfect maid”, a seemingly simple task that quickly unravels into a rollercoaster of comic situations, unexpected connections, and heartwarming reflections.

Speaking about the project, actress Manasi Parekh shared how working on ‘Maharani’ made her reflect on the deep, often overlooked relationship between housemaids and the families they work for.

“It’s a bond that’s often invisible but absolutely irreplaceable,” she said. “The film also explores female friendships and the journey toward self-love and self-respect. My character is a modern, independent working woman; someone constantly juggling life’s demands and learning as she goes. That’s what makes her so real.”

Shraddha Dangar, who plays Rani, echoed similar sentiments. She found the script personally resonant and appreciated how her character is portrayed with nuance and depth.

“Rani isn’t just comic relief. She’s strong, self-aware, and full of surprises. That’s what makes ‘Maharani’ so special. It’s not just funny. It’s smart and heartfelt too.”

Director Viral Shah, a National Award winner, explained the philosophy behind the film. “’Maharani’ is about the unsung relationships that unfold in kitchens, living rooms, and in quiet glances exchanged over chai. It’s those small, unspoken connections that hold up our homes and our lives. While it’s a comedy at its core, there’s a sincerity in the way we’ve told this story that I think will stay with audiences.”

Producer Abhishek Pathak, Managing Director of Panorama Studios, added, “This film isn’t just entertaining. It’s relatable. It captures the emotional rhythms of every household and celebrates the people who keep things running, often without any spotlight. With such a talented cast and heartfelt narrative, we’re proud to bring ‘Maharani’ to theatres.”

‘Maharani’ is produced under the banners of Monkey God Entertainment, Summit Studios, and Eka Entertainment, and presented by Panorama Studios.

The production team includes Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, Pritesh Thakkar, Madhu Sharma, and Viral Shah, with co-producers Murlidhar Chhatwani, Chandresh Bhanushali, Suchin Ahluwalia, and Masumeh Makhija.

The film is going to hit theatres on August 1.
