Pakistan broke ranks with the US Saturday on the war with Iran and condemned what it dubbed “unwarranted attacks”, demanding an “immediate” halt to hostilities and return to the tables of diplomacy and negotiation.
The information was publicly disseminated via X/Twitter. In a post, the Foreign Ministry of Pakistan announced that the deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Mohammad Ishaq Dar had a telephonic conversation with the Foreign Minister of Iran.
“DPM/FM Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar @MIshaqDar50 received a call from FM of Iran, Seyed Abbas Araghchi. They reviewed the evolving situation in Iran and the wider region. DPM/FM strongly condemned the unwarrantedvattacks against Iran and called for an immediate halt to escalation through urgent resumption of diplomacy to achieve a peaceful, negotiated resolution to the crisis,” Pakistan Foreign Ministry posted on X.
Meanwhile, Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) posted on X: “The UAE today was subjected to a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles, noting that UAE air defence systems dealt with the missiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a number of missiles. Authorities in the UAE also handled the fall of some missile debris in a residential area which resulted in some material damage. The fallen debris also resulted in one civilian death of an Asian nationality. The authorities confirmed that the security situation in the UAE remains stable and that all concerned entities are monitoring developments around the clock…”
Also, Ukraine extended support to the Iranian people and their “legitimate desire to live in security, freedom and prosperity”. “The Iranian regime, which has been mocking the Iranian people for decades, has launched a large-scale policy of violence against its own people and other countries. This includes massive human rights violations within the country, support for militants who have brought chaos to other countries in the region, and direct military support for the aggressor state of Russia in its unprovoked war of aggression against Ukraine.”
