The First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Denis Manturov, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday to review the progress of India-Russia cooperation, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
During the meeting, Manturov briefed PM Modi on developments across trade and economic partnership, the fertilizers sector, connectivity projects, and initiatives aimed at strengthening people-to-people ties between the two countries.
Recalling the visit of President Vladimir Putin to India in December 2025 for the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit, PM Modi expressed satisfaction at the sustained efforts to implement the Summit’s outcomes. “The continuous collaboration reflects the strength of our Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership,” he said, highlighting both governments’ commitment to translating strategic dialogue into tangible results.
PM Modi also extended warm greetings to President Putin, adding, “I look forward to our continued engagement and shared efforts to further deepen cooperation across multiple sectors.”
The meeting underscored the focus of both countries on consolidating long-standing ties while exploring new avenues for trade, connectivity, and people-centered collaboration, in line with the vision set during the Annual Summit.
