Rattled by the camaraderie displayed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Presidents Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping at the recently-concluded SCO Summit, United States President Donald Trump on Friday said that the US may have lost India and Russia to China.
Posting on his Truth Social platform, Trump sarcastically wished the three countries a “long and prosperous future together”.
This is what the US President posted on Truth Social, “Looks like we’ve lost India and Russia to deepest, darkest, China. May they have a long and prosperous future together! President Donald J. Trump.”
Along with his message, Trump shared an old photo of the three leaders together.
That the US president is rattled by other nations’ ‘coming together’ following the spate of tariffs announced by his administration against other countries including friends, has been evident from the series of statements Trump has been making recently. While he has been threatening some, other countries have been at the receiving end of his displeasure.
Recently, Trump had also alleged that the Chinese President, Xi Jinping was “conspiring against” America after North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and Russia’s Putin attended the largest-ever military parade in Beijing this week after the SCO Summit. The parade marked the 80th anniversary of Japan’s surrender in World War II.

Barely a few days ago, the US president had claimed that New Delhi had offered to reduce its tariffs on American imports to “nothing” in response to the imposition of a 50 per cent levy on Indian goods by Washington.
Trump has been repeatedly calling India the “most tariffed nation” in the world.
“China kills us with tariffs, India kills us with tariffs, Brazil kills us with tariffs. I’ve understood tariffs better than they did; I understood tariffs better than any human beings in the world. India was the most highly tariffed nation in the world, and you know what, they’ve offered me no tariffs in India anymore. No tariffs. If I didn’t have tariffs, they would never make that offer. So you have to have tariffs,” Trump said during an interview.

He had earlier also called the relationship with India “totally one-sided” and “one-sided disaster”.
“What few people understand is that we do very little business with India, but they do a tremendous amount of business with us. In other words, they sell us massive amounts of goods, their biggest ‘client’, but we sell them very little – Until now a totally one sided relationship, and it has been for many decades. The reason is that India has charged us, until now, such high Tariffs, the most of any country, that our businesses are unable to sell into India.
“It has been a totally one-sided disaster! Also, India buys most of its oil and military products from Russia, very little from the US They have now offered to cut their Tariffs to nothing, but it’s getting late. They should have done so years ago. Just some simple facts for people to ponder!!!” he added.
