The world’s most celebrated festival of lights just got a global glow, thanks to Apple’s Tim Cook. The tech giant’s CEO took to X (formerly Twitter) to wish millions a bright and joyful Diwali, sharing a breathtaking photograph of flickering diyas all captured on the latest iPhone 17 Pro Max.

“Wishing a joyful and healthy Diwali to all celebrating around the world! Thanks to Apeksha Maker for sharing this stunning photo taken on iPhone 17 Pro Max,” Cook wrote.

The photograph, taken by Indian photographer Apeksha Maker, captures the heart of Diwali. The image glows with the soft luminance of diyas.

This isn’t the first time Tim Cook has joined in India’s festive celebrations. The Apple chief often extends his greetings during major cultural occasions like Diwali and Holi. Last year, Cook shared another image of beautifully arranged diyas, shot on the iPhone 16 Pro Max, captioning it: “Diwali is a time of light, unity, and hope. Wishing everyone celebrating a joyous and peaceful Festival of Lights!”

This year’s message comes soon after Apple unveiled its latest lineup, the iPhone 17 series in September. The flagship iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models launched alongside the regular iPhone 17 and the all-new iPhone Air are being praised for their cutting-edge design. Featuring a robust aluminium body, the largest iPhone battery yet, and a “full-width camera plateau” on the back, these devices mark Apple’s bold new chapter in smartphone photography.
