IIT Guwahati’s National Skill Academia partners with IvySchool.ai

In a significant push toward skill-based education in India’s Northeast, IIT Guwahati’s National Skill Academia (NSA) has joined hands with IvySchool.ai, a global learning platform known for its AI, coding, and entrepreneurship programs. The partnership aims to equip students across the seven northeastern states with next-generation skills in Artificial Intelligence and Entrepreneurship, bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world application. Under this collaboration, students from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura will have access to IvySchool.ai’s globally recognized AI certificate programs, developed in collaboration with leading global institutions such as Harvard University, Stanford, MIT, and Wharton. The initiative focuses on helping students translate academic knowledge into practical innovation and employable skills. Through a mix of self-paced and live courses, learners will be introduced to hands-on training modules covering AI applications, data analytics, innovation, and entrepreneurship development. Across much of Northeast India, limited access to modern institutions, laboratories, and digital resources continues to restrict students to theoretical learning. The absence of major industries or startups deprives them of real-world experience and exposure to innovation. A shortage of skilled trainers in emerging fields such as AI, data science, and entrepreneurship further widens the gap. Cultural diversity and difficult terrain often complicate policy implementation, while inadequate career guidance leaves students uncertain about future opportunities. Together, these challenges hinder the region’s youth from achieving the skill transition needed to compete in today’s evolving job market. The goal, according to both institutions, is to enhance employability, promote start-up culture, and prepare the youth for a rapidly changing technology-driven economy. “At IvySchool.ai, our vision is to empower the next generation with AI, coding, and entrepreneurship skills,” said Bob Chopra, CEO of IvySchool.ai. “Through this partnership with the National Skill Academia at IIT Guwahati, we’re enabling students in Northeast India to gain practical exposure, develop entrepreneurial mindsets, and build the skills that matter most in today’s AI-driven economy.” The collaboration also seeks to make quality AI education more accessible beyond the metros, particularly in a region that has historically faced educational and infrastructural challenges. Courses will be delivered in a hybrid format, combining online learning with localized mentorship and industry guidance from experts at IIT Guwahati. Siddharth Dutta, CEO of National Skill Academia at IIT Guwahati, said the partnership reflects NSA’s commitment to expanding future-ready education across the country. “At National Skill Academia, our mission is to make high-quality, future-focused education accessible to students across India. Partnering with IvySchool.ai enables us to deliver cutting-edge AI and entrepreneurship programs to colleges across the Northeast, equipping learners with the skills and mindset needed to succeed in today’s fast-evolving job market,” Dutta said. Experts believe the move could have far-reaching implications for the employment landscape in the region. With global demand for AI and data professionals on the rise, the Northeast’s student community stands to benefit from early exposure to the tools and thinking that define the future of work. Beyond employability, the collaboration emphasizes nurturing innovation and self-reliance among young learners. Students aspiring to build their own ventures or develop solutions for regional challenges — such as in agriculture, tourism, or logistics — will gain crucial training in entrepreneurship fundamentals. For IvySchool.ai, the initiative marks a milestone in its regional outreach, extending its global certification framework to India’s northeastern states through localized delivery. For the NSA, it strengthens IIT Guwahati’s role as a catalyst for skill development and inclusive growth in the region. As the world pivots toward artificial intelligence and digital innovation, this collaboration could help ensure that students from the country’s eastern frontier are not left behind — but instead lead the way in shaping India’s AI-driven future.
