A perfect fine-dine

Connaught Place in New Delhi is usually termed as the heart and hub of the city. Therefore, it is considered to be the best and safest place to start any new venture, perhaps this was in the mind of the owner of The Imperial Spices, who preferred to start his first eatery in Connaught Place. Located in M Block, opposite of landmark Super Market, The Imperial Spice is a fine dining restaurant and offers some tantalizing tastes. Before the food or taste, its cool ambiance and nice décor can impress any diner. The interior of the restaurant is artistically decorated with chandeliers, made of laser cut metal, which looks quite pleasing in dim light. The place is divided into three parts: one part is meant for fine dining, then there is a DJ and bar area and a big portion is totally dedicated to private dining. They also have an open terrace but it was closed at the time of dining. Overall the ambiance looks quite royal and cozy.

In terms of menu, the restaurant offers global cuisine, but dominated by Oriental and Continental food. Some of their signature dishes in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian are Tadke wala Tamatar aur Dhaniya Shorba; Gari infused Manchow Soup; Wok-tossed Vegetables with Garlic and Spring Onions and Fried Eggplant, with Pepper Sauce; Classic Dumplings; Signature Black Stoned Chaat; Paan Paneer Tikka; Duck Khurchan Tacos; and many more. The bar menu of the restaurant is quite thick, offering an exceptional assortment of wine and single malts from South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Chile, Spain, Italy and more and an array of mocktails and cocktails, including Cosmopolitan, Sex on the Beach, Black Russian, Bourbon Mint Julep, Italian Smooch, Guava Blast and Virgin Colada.

One could start the food trail with a salad platter ~ it was well presented with a mix of sun-dried tomatoes and celery. It was very fresh and delicious. In fact, it enhanced the craving for upcoming dishes. The next was Gari-infused Monchow Soup ~ it was a little spicy. Then we tried Fried Egg Plant in Pepper Plant ~ it was also good to taste. Then one could also try their Tangy Chicken Nuggets, which is served with pickled Mayo and cheese dip, it can also be a good choice.  For any vegetarian one should not miss the Paan Paneer Tikka ~ a twisted version of Paneer tikka. It is served with paan leaves and chef’s special.

By the time, we were done with the starter, the main course had already started coming to the table. In the main course, we tried its Papad Mangory ki subzi, Makhania in vegetarian and in non-vegetarian Mutton Rogan Josh can be a wise choice. We ended our dining with Chocolate Rabri, Gulab Jamun with custard and Lahsuni Kheer. More than the taste its presentation was impressive.
