Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya on Thursday said India’s demographic dividend can become its greatest strength only when young people are connected with meaningful opportunities through active partnerships between the government and industry.
He was addressing the Industry Association Conclave here.
In a significant step towards strengthening collaboration between the government and industry for youth development, the Department of Youth Affairs under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports organised the Industry Association Conclave at Dr BR Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi.
The event brought together over 20 leading industry associations, corporates, public sector enterprises, CSR organisations and senior government officials to build strategic partnerships through the MY Bharat (Mera Yuva Bharat) ecosystem.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Mandaviya said the MY Bharat Digital Platform, envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been designed as a single-window platform to connect young people with opportunities in learning, volunteering, innovation, skill development and leadership.
The Union Minister urged industry associations to leverage their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives to create structured opportunities for youth, promote entrepreneurship and experiential learning, strengthen youth engagement around industrial clusters, and partner in the development of Vibrant Villages through MY Bharat volunteers.
Emphasising the need to tackle substance abuse among young people, he called for collective action by the government, industry and civil society to channel youth energy towards constructive nation-building.
The conclave focused on expanding opportunities for young people through skilling, volunteering, internships, entrepreneurship, innovation and CSR, while advancing the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.
The event concluded with a shared commitment to strengthen government-industry partnerships, onboard more industry stakeholders onto the MY Bharat platform, and build a robust national ecosystem that expands opportunities for young people while contributing to the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.
