Ravi Bishnoi and Arshdeep Singh made notable gains in the latest ICC T20I rankings released on Wednesday, which accounted for performances from the recently concluded tri-series involving Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the UAE.
Varun Chakravarthy remains India’s highest-ranked bowler at No. 4, while New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy continues to hold the top spot.
In the batting charts, Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma retained the No. 1 and No. 2 positions, respectively. India also continues to be the No. 1 ranked T20I side in the world.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s triumph in the tri-series brought significant improvements for their bowlers. Left-arm spinner Sufiyan Muqeem rose seven places to 15th after a two-wicket haul in the final, while pace spearhead Shaheen Afridi advanced four spots to 22nd.
Leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed made an impressive leap of 39 places to joint-27th after claiming six wickets in just two outings. Player of the Series Mohammad Nawaz, who finished with 10 wickets, climbed 13 places to 30th in the T20I bowlers’ list.
Among batters, Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman gained nine places to 68th after scoring 155 runs during the tri-series, while Sri Lanka’s Kusal Perera moved up three spots to ninth following his unbeaten fifty against Zimbabwe in Harare.
Zimbabwe veteran Sikandar Raza also improved in the T20I all-rounders’ rankings, rising three places to fourth overall after consistent performances against Sri Lanka.
In the ODI rankings, England quick Jofra Archer surged to third among bowlers following his standout performance in the home series against South Africa, which the hosts lost 1-2.
Archer bagged eight wickets across the three matches, including a superb 4/18 in the Southampton finale. His efforts lifted him 16 places in the latest update, leaving him just 26 rating points behind top-ranked Keshav Maharaj.
Archer’s teammate Adil Rashid also advanced, moving up seven spots to eighth among ODI bowlers. On the batting front, England’s Joe Root climbed five places to 19th, skipper Jos Buttler jumped seven to 35th, and youngster Jacob Bethell made significant progress, soaring 56 spots to 65th.
