Weekend delight: Spicy Stuffed Bhindi

One of the nicest things about life is the weekend full of rest and yummy food that is easy to cook and good for health. Rejuvenate with a little time for a quick recipe of Spicy Stuffed Bhindi.

Stuffed Bhindi or Ladyfinger serve as a healthy and tasty vegetable dish. All you need is some hot chapattis and fresh yogurt to make it a wholesome meal.

Serves: 4, Preparation time: 15 minutes, Cooking time: 25 minutes

Ingredients for Spicy Stuffed Bhindi:

Ladyfingers            250 grams

Red chilli powder  ½ tsp

Garam masala       ½ tsp

Coriander powder 2 tsp

Turmeric powder   ½ tsp

Fennel powder       ½ tsp

Tamarind powder  ½ tsp

Salt                           to taste

Lemon juice            2 tbsp

Mustard oil             1 Tbsp

Sugar                        ½ tsp

How to make Spicy Stuffed Bhindi

Wash the ladyfingers or bhindis thoroughly and dry them properly.

Remove both ends and slit the bhindis lengthwise without cutting through it.

Mix all the spices, salt, sugar and lemon juice altogether.

Apply this paste inside the slit ladyfingers.

Heat oil in a big non-stick pan.

Spread all the stuffed ladyfingers in a single layer at the bottom of the pan.

Cook on low flame, stirring frequently till they change their colour and become soft

The flavours of the filling will even out when added to the vegetable.
