The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Thursday called for Action Taken Reports following two separate incidents of poll violence in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district, ECI officials said.
In Nowda, a clash broke out among Trinamool Congress and Aam Janata Unnayan Party (AJUP) workers, where vehicles linked to AJUP candidate Humayun Kabir were attacked.
In Domkal, Left workers and supporters were allegedly barred from casting their votes. Clashes were reported from the area on Thursday as well.
In Kumarganj, BJP candidate Shubhendu Sarkar was assaulted by a group of men outside a polling booth. His PSO managed to extract him and the leader was reportedly admitted to hospital for check up.
