The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Sunday carried out a bulldozer action against a property linked to an accused in the Uttam Nagar murder case in New Delhi.
According to officials, the demolition drive targeted a property associated with one of the accused, identified as Nizamuddin. Civic authorities said the action was taken as part of enforcement measures against illegal constructions connected to individuals involved in the case.

Officials from the MCD carried out the demolition in the presence of local authorities and security personnel to maintain law and order during the operation.

The bulldozer action comes after Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta took a tough stance of zero tolerance towards violent crimes and ordered immediate directions for swift action. Delhi CM, on a post on X yesterday, had warned of strict action in the matter.

Police probe underway
Meanwhile, police said that seven people have so far been apprehended in connection with the murder case, including a minor. The arrests were made as part of an ongoing investigation into the incident that had triggered concern in the area. SC/ST Act has been added to the FIR in the case.
Police officials added that further investigation is underway to ascertain the sequence of events and the role of the accused in the case.
