Mission Shakti 5.0

In a major push to empower women and reinforce their safety and dignity, a massive statewide bike rally was organised on Sunday across all districts of Uttar Pradesh under the “Mission Shakti 5.0” initiative.

The campaign received widespread public support, with the hashtag #MissionShakti5 trending strongly on social media platforms.

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath formally launched “Mission Shakti 5” on Saturday at Lok Bhawan, Lucknow. He directed that bike rallies be conducted across all districts to instil a stronger sense of security, respect, and self-confidence among women.

Following the Chief Minister’s directions, under the leadership of Director General of Police, Uttar Pradesh, Rajeev Krishna, around 18,000 female police officers and personnel from various ranks led the bike rally on Sunday. The rallies were carried out simultaneously in every district, spreading powerful messages of women’s empowerment and safety.

From early morning, women police officers took to the streets on motorcycles, raising slogans such as “Safety and Dignity are Women’s Rights”. Streets resonated with the spirited chants, while local citizens warmly welcomed the rally with applause and flower showers, reinforcing the collective resolve for women’s security.

In his inaugural address, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasised that “Women’s safety and dignity remain the top priority of our government.” He also launched Mission Shakti Kendras in all 1,663 police stations across the state and released informational folders titled “Empowered Women, Prosperous State”, which also included vital women’s safety helpline numbers.

Special security measures for women were also announced in view of the upcoming Navratri festival and other major celebrations.

The massive participation and enthusiastic response from the public during this bike rally made it clear that women’s safety is no longer just the responsibility of the government but a collective commitment of the entire society. Senior police and administrative officials, elected representatives, and ministers also actively participated in the rally, lending strong support to the campaign.
