Tourists stranded at Gulmarg peak rescued by Army helicopters

Several tourists stranded at the high reaches of Gulmarg due to some technical snag in a private helicopter in which they were flying on Friday were rescued by the Army. Helicopters were used by the Army for the rescue mission.
Tourist helicopter service in the iconic Gulmarg was temporarily suspended on Friday following a reported technical fault in a private helicopter that left several tourists stranded at Sunshine Peak.

Officials said that the stranded tourists were later safely evacuated with the assistance of Army helicopters after authorities launched a coordinated rescue operation in the area.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has appreciated the prompt and coordinated efforts of the Army and Civil Administration in safely rescuing tourists stranded in the higher reaches of Gulmarg following a technical snag in a private helicopter.

He commended the swift response and close coordination among all agencies involved in the rescue operation, which ensured the safety and well-being of the stranded tourists.
Omar abdullah further directed the administration to take all necessary measures to strengthen safety protocols and ensure a safe and secure experience for tourists visiting the region, so as to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.

He reiterated the government’s commitment towards safeguarding tourists and maintaining high standards of safety at all tourist destinations across Jammu and Kashmir.
