A large-scale cleanliness and public awareness drive was undertaken by Delhi Cabinet Minister Kapil Mishra in Delhi’s Timarpur Assembly Constituency on Monday.

A rally was organised to promote source segregation of waste, the ban on single-use plastic, and to encourage citizens to make cleanliness a mass movement. Awareness was spread on waste segregation methods, the dangers of plastic pollution, and the vision of a cleaner Delhi.

Addressing a gathering on the occasion, Mishra stated that a city can truly become clean when citizens step forward to take responsibility. “Timarpur has proved today that with collective effort, Delhi can become the cleanest city in the country,” he said.

The Minister emphasised the ban on single-use plastic and the need to adopt sustainable alternatives. He added that the dream of a ‘Clean Delhi – Green Delhi’ can only be realised when the use of single-use plastic is completely stopped.
