The Haryana government has put in place an extensive security and logistical framework for the NEET-UG examination scheduled on June 21, introducing a series of special measures aimed at ensuring a smooth and transparent conduct of the medical entrance test across the state.

In a first-of-its-kind arrangement, examination papers were transported to Haryana through a special Indian Air Force aircraft and brought to Hisar Airport under heightened security. Officials said the papers are being kept under strict surveillance, though the exact storage location has not been disclosed for security reasons.

Authorities have also ordered the closure of coaching institutes across the state from June 20 until the completion of the examination. In addition, photocopy shops operating near examination centres will remain shut during the period. The government has directed power utilities to avoid scheduled electricity outages during the examination days to ensure uninterrupted arrangements at all venues.

The examination will be conducted in 19 cities across Haryana. Officials said multiple layers of security verification have been introduced following revised guidelines issued by national authorities after concerns raised during previous examinations. A preliminary assessment of all examination centres was conducted earlier this month, while additional inspections are scheduled on June 20 and June 21.

Under the security protocol, question paper packets will be transported from district treasuries to examination centres through designated government vehicles. Each movement of the sealed packets will be monitored by nodal officers and police personnel. Officials said seals will be verified at every stage to eliminate the possibility of tampering.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) examination is scheduled to begin at 2 pm and conclude at 5:15 pm. Entry to examination centres will start at 11:30 am and close at 1:30 pm, after which no candidate will be allowed to enter. Students have been advised to reach their centres well in advance to avoid last-minute difficulties.

To facilitate candidates, the state government has announced free travel in Haryana Roadways buses for NEET-UG aspirants. The decision was taken following directions from Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. Official orders have been issued to transport authorities, enabling candidates to travel to and from examination centres without paying any fare.

Special city bus services will also operate in several districts to connect bus stands with examination venues. Transport officials said dedicated routes have been identified to help students reach centres on time. In Hisar, for example, special buses will depart from the main bus stand in the morning and return candidates after the examination.

Authorities have additionally deployed motorcycle riders and emergency response teams near major transit points. Candidates who miss their scheduled transport may seek assistance from officials or contact emergency services for support in reaching their centres. Administrative officers, police personnel and nodal officers have been instructed to remain on high alert throughout the examination period.

The Bikaner Railway Division has also announced plans to operate special unreserved train services for the convenience of candidates from districts falling within its jurisdiction, including Hisar, Rewari, Bhiwani and Sirsa.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini reviewed the preparations during a meeting in Sirsa attended by senior officers from the police, education and civil administration departments. He said the government had made comprehensive arrangements to ensure the examination is conducted fairly and efficiently. He also reiterated that students would be provided free travel facilities through state-run buses.

Sirsa Superintendent of Police Deepak Saharan said all examination centres had been instructed to maintain adequate drinking water facilities, proper ventilation, uninterrupted electricity supply and suitable seating arrangements. He warned that any attempt to disturb the examination process or engage in unfair practices would invite strict action.

As part of preventive measures, restrictions have been imposed around examination centres under legal provisions. Unauthorised persons will not be allowed within a 200-metre radius of examination venues, while photocopy shops and coaching centres located within a 500-metre radius will remain closed during the examination period.

Officials said the combined measures are intended to safeguard the integrity of the examination process and provide a hassle-free experience to thousands of candidates appearing for one of the country’s most competitive entrance tests.
